About Structural Acoustic Solutions
Structural acoustics describes the interaction of sound and structural vibration across a wide frequency range. The field has a rich history, is well-developed yet still evolving, and has a wide range of interesting and relevant applications. That said, courses in acoustics and vibration are becoming more rare in undergraduate programs leading to a decline in knowledgeable practitioners.
Structural Acoustic Solutions was founded in 2024 to collaborate with leading providers of structural acoustic solutions to advance the field and connect industry challenges with effective solutions to meet noise and vibration requirements.

About Ed Heyd
My name is Ed Heyd and I have been working in the structural acoustics field for 32 years on applications ranging from submarine stealth to launch vehicle vibro-acoustics. You can view my background on LinkedIn or by pulling up my resume.

Along the way, it has been a privilege to learn from some very talented people working in this field. As I look toward the remaining years of my career, my interest lies in helping companies connect with effective solutions to their structural acoustic challenges. To that end, I started Structural Acoustic Solutions and continue serving on the teams linked below.

On a personal note, my wife and I and our two college-age daughters live in Littleton, Colorado and enjoy all the outdoor activities, travel, and food this state offers. Feel free to reach out for ideas if your travel plans bring you to Colorado!
I serve on the NASA NESC Loads & Dynamics Technical Discipline Team that provides reviews and guidance relative to methods for structural dynamic and dynamic environment analyses and test programs.
I serve on the ATS advisory team that organizes and promotes the conference for sharing advancements in aerospace testing.
